I just came across this relatively recent article about Android accessibility. It seems that the author noticed all of the same things that I did, except that I don't have a problem with the built-in speech being too slow. He is totally blind, like me, and used the same model of Nexus 7 that I have (2012), and used Jellybean and Kit Kat, as I have done. But unlike me, he did everything with the touchscreen, and has used IOS and the touch gestures in Mac and Windows. So when he talks about problems in the gestures for Android, he is a much better authority than I. Judging by the review, , there is definitely something wrong with native Android accessibility. I loved the description of changing the talkback settings. I, too, had to wondered if it was some kind of religious ritual. Maybe, I'm supposed to say a prayer to the Google Gods, while drawing sacred symbols on the screen. I'm curious. What is tab order and/or tab swipe order?

So what does everyone think? Have you noticed these things and are the workarounds easy, or do you find these views to be inaccurate? Do you think that Google should focus more on meeting the demands of blind customers?
